This is why I love Volunteering @MERUCharity
Its been quite a busy few months for me at MERU and its been a very exciting time. Last Saturday I had the pleasure of seeing the children take 10 Bugzi wheelchairs away with them at the QEF Mobility Centre in Carshalton. it was an fantastic experience for me to watch the child have total control over where they wanted to go, even if that was crashing into things. the highlight of my day was differently when the Mayor of Sutton asked them to come up and collect their certificates, for the first time in their lives they didn't have to wait for mummy or daddy to push them or go up for them. Here is a photo of some of the children collecting their Certificates, Such a wonderful achievement for them. it makes the time I volunteer at Meru so worth it.
Here is also another project that I have found quite challenging but again it was for a charity that I have a special connection to so it is so nice to see these mice now at the children's trust helping the children there access computers using buttons rather than having to click on a mice which they would not be able to do easily. I so love making custom products and coming up with ideas on how to make them work best for the children that come to Meru for help.
ha! ha! that's great! Volunteering is a good start and I think thats where I shall be heading until I find a new job.
